2011-12: Embarks on her senior campaign as one of York's top swimmers ... already an accomplished college swimmer who will look to add to those marks this season ... will set a tremendous example for her teammates ... diligent in her approach ... could post exceptional times in several freestyle events this season ... will look for another recording-breaking year.

2010-11: Put together a tremendous junior campaign ... broke three Spartan records at the CAC championships (500 free - 5:21.14 1,000 free - 11:03.78, 1,650 free - 18:13.31) ... part of the 800 freestyle relay, which timed an 8:19.33 to take third place ... recorded a season-best 2:00.17 in the 200 free … swam to a time of 2:23.96 in the 200 IM at the Ursinus meet on January 15.

2009-10: In her sophomore year, Michaela swam 2:01.77 in the 200 free and placed 7th in the conference. Also at the CAC championship meet she swam to a record breaking 18:34.17 in the 1650 free. She was also a part of the 2nd place 800 free relay and the 3rd place finishing 400 free relay.

Personal: Is a nursing major with a minor in Spanish ... is the daughter of Genine Furguiele ... born on December 2, 1990 ... swam on the club level for Fairland Aquatic swim team ... names her mom as the person she most admires ... hobbies include being with friends and going to country concerts ... favorite athlete is Troy Polamalu ... chose York because of the nursing program and swim team ... her most memorable athletic moment while at York is taking second place in the 800 freestyle relay at the 2010 Capital Athletic Conference Championships ... after graduation she plans on traveling to Spain and South America to work as a nurse and eventually become a nurse practitioner.
