YORK, PA - York College sophomore swimmer Heather MacLennan (Galena, Md./St. Mark's) was just selected as the most recent Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week for February 15, 2010.
MacLennan posted one of the top performances in Spartan swimming history at this weekend's Capital Athletic Conference Championships in St. Mary's City, Md. She captured a trio of individual medals - garnering first in the 200 backstroke, second in the 200 freestyle, and third in the 100 backstroke - while helping the Spartans to a runner-up spot in the 800 freestyle relay.
Additionally, MacLennan nabbed two NCAA "B" cuts, grabbing those provisional times for nationals in the 200 free (1:54.98) and the 200 back (2:07.37).
MacLennan's Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week honor is her second of the 2009-2010 campaign as she also received the accolade back on December 7.
The sophomore will now continue to train in preparation for a possible showing at the NCAA National Championships.
