YORK, PA - The York College women’s swim dropped their second straight meet as the University of Mary Washington Eagles downed the Spartans 143-57 in a Capital Athletic Conference meet on Saturday afternoon in York. The Eagles improve to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the CAC while the Spartans fall to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
The Spartans got one individual and one relay win as both came after the Eagles started swimming exhibitions.
The Spartans’ win came from Pamela Tobin (Estell Manor, N.J./Holy Spirit) as she won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:49.36. Teammate Colleen Nolan (Annandale, Va./Annandale) placed second behind Tobin with a time of 2:49.89.
The Spartans’ 400 free relay team of Ashley Stanton (Columbia, Md./Hammond), Laura McCray (Laurel, Md./Laurel), Molly Wasik (York, Pa./Spring Grove), and Bridget Miller (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) recorded a win in their event with a time of 3:59.38.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday when they travel to
St. Mary’s to face the Seahawks and Frostburg State in a
tri-meet. The meet begins at 1:00 pm.
