MILLERSVILLE, PA - The York College women’s swim team traveled to Division II Millersville University and dropped a 124-76 decision to the Marauders on Friday night in Millersville, PA. The Spartans fall to 3-2 overall while Millersville improved to 1-1.
The Spartans posted one individual win, a trio of individual second place finishes, and seven third place finishes. The Spartans’ 200 free relay teams earned first and second place finishes.
The Spartans’ lone individual win came from Colleen Nolan (Annandale, Va./Annandale) as she won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:16.29.
York’s first second place finish came from sophomore Molly Wasik (York, Pa./Spring Grove) as she was the runner-up in the 100 backstroke, notching a time of 1:07.31. Senior Laura McCray (Laurel, Md./Laurel) placed second in the 500 freestyle as she touched the wall in a time of 5:46.86. Flor Aroche (Spring, Texas/Tomball) recorded York’s third second place finish as she was the runner up to Nolan in the 100 breaststroke, recording a time of 1:18.34.
The Spartans received a pair of thirds from Bridget Miller (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) as she finished as the second runner up in the 200 free (2:08.43) and the 100 free (59.41). McCray was third in the 100 fly (1:06.28) while Wasik was third in the 200 IM (2:26.33). Kaitlin Crean (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) finished third in the 1000 free as she touched the wall in a time of 12:03.70. Ashley Stanton (Columbia, Md./Hammond) competed in the 50 free and recorded a time of 27.40 while Pamela Tobin (Estell Manor, N.J./Holy Spirit) finished third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:19.17.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday afternoon when they square off with Mary Washington in a CAC meet. The action kicks off at 2:00 pm.
