YORK, PA - York College freshman goalie Jess Wieber has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Wieber pitched a pair of shut outs to lead York to a pair of crucial Capital Athletic Conference wins this week.
On Wednesday, Wieber blanked Wesley as she notched two saves in the win over the Wolverines. She went the distance to earn the victory.
She followed that with one save in the 2-0 win over Southern Virginia on Saturday in York. Wieber finished the week with two shutouts in 180 minutes of action.
For the season, Wieber has played 1168:38 minutes and owns a goals against average of 1.31. Wieber owns a .782 save percentage. She has recorded 61 saves and has posted three shutouts for the year.
