YORK, PA - York College sophomore goal keeper Melanie Glessner (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) was named the Capital Athletic Conference women's soccer defensive player of the week as announced by conference office on Monday.
Glessner notched two more shutouts as the Spartans improved to 4-1-3 overall. Glessner, who has allowed just one goal all year, earned a shutout over Penn State Harrisburg on a very rainy Tuesday as she made two saves. She then garnered York's first CAC win of the year with four saves including a point-blank stop in shutting out Marymount on Saturday.
For the year, Glessner has allowed just one goal and boasts a 0.12 goals against average with five shutouts.
