York College welcomed back its fall sports athletes on Friday as practices started for the 2011 fall season. The women's soccer, field hockey and volleyball squads started practice Friday morning. Men's Soccer begins training on Saturday followed by cross country on Sunday.
The Spartans will train for two weeks before opening their respective seasons on September 1 & 2. The women's soccer squad opens at home against Scranton on Thursday, September 1 at 4:30. The field hockey team opens the same day, also at home, against Alvernia. Volleyball plays Messiah on the road to begin their 2011 season. Men's Soccer begins their season on September 2 against Virginia Wesleyan in the opening round of the Christopher Newport Tournament. The cross country squads open their seasons on Saturday, September 3 at Shippensburg University.
