YORK, PA - York College women’s soccer midfielder Carly Bock (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) captured Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week honors on Monday following an outstanding trio of matches over the October 5-11 span.
Bock powered the Spartans to a 3-0 week including a pair of Capital Athletic Conference wins over Marymount and Salisbury.
The junior saved her best performance for York’s biggest contest of the week as York defeated #16 Salisbury 2-1 on Sunday in double-overtime. Down 1-0, Bock tallied the Spartans' equalizer in the 57th minute, a tally which eventually forced the match into extra frames. She then provided the assist on the game-winner as she fed Stephanie Rice (Glen Rock, Pa./Susquehannock) in the 104th minute to give the Green and White the victory.
Earlier in the week, Bock had an assist in the Spartans’ 5-1 Friday afternoon win at Marymount. She also provided a helper on York’s first goal of the match in the 3-1 home triumph over Franklin & Marshall this past Tuesday.
For the week, Bock had a goal and three assists as York improved to 10-2-1 overall (3-0-1 CAC) including 7-0 at home. For the season, Bock has 11 points on three goals and five assists.
Bock and Spartans will look to stretch their current three-game winning streak on Tuesday as the Green and White host CAC foe Gallaudet in a 4:00 p.m. contest.
