YORK, PA – York College women’s soccer senior Kali Macgregor (Rockville, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Mid-Atlantic second-team for her outstanding performance in 2008.
     Macgregor receives her second regional selection after being chosen to the third-team last year. In 2008, the senior tri-captain was a defensive stalwart for the green and white, controlling the middle of York’s defensive third of the field. The leader of a unit that only allowed 0.8 goals per game this season, Macgregor’s excellence in the air combined with her tough style of play provided the Spartans with quality defensive efforts.
     “Kali was such a force for us defensively,” Spartan head coach Vicki Sterner said. “She is physical, strong, and tough in addition to being a very intelligent player.”
     Accompanying the NSCAA accolades, Macgregor was also a three-time Capital Athletic Conference all-league performer, landing on the first-team in each of the past two seasons.
