YORK, PA – The York College wrestling squad fell in dramatic fashion, 22-19 to Elizabethtown College on Wednesday at M&T Bank Fieldhouse. The Spartans trailed 15-0 after the first four matches, but a victory by pin fall by freshman Eric Hutchinson ignited a comeback that propelled York to a 19-15 lead with two matches remaining. The Blue Jays took both of them, however, completing a comeback of their own to seal the victory.

The loss to Elizabethtown was York's first in the last five meetings with the Blue Jays … Eric Hutchinson improved to 7-3 in his freshman campaign, earning his first pin of his career in the process … Jackson Drum continued his winning ways, moving to 10-1 on the year … Frankie Krauss is now 10-1 as well, tied for the best on the team … David Keith moved up to 174 from his usual 165-pound class, where is 7-3 on the season … the match was 19-19 heading into the match at 285, where Stefanos Karpotinis entered the night at 9-0 … Karpotinis was locked up in a battle that was tied at 1-1 with just 10 seconds remaining in the match.
The Spartans stay at home to host The College of New Jersey on Saturday at 1 p.m. Last year, York defeated the Lions 21-14.
