2010-11: Enters his junior year with the potential to have a monster season … selected as one of York’s three captains … gained significant experience at York’s main starter at 197 pounds during the 2009-2010 season … spent a significant amount of time in the weight room during the offseason … ready to put together an outstanding season.
2009-10: The Spartans’ main starter at 197 pounds … went 13-8 over his 21 matches … began the year with a 7-4 decision over Jack Callender of Drexel, a Division I program … started against #10 Maryland’s Hudson Taylor, who at the time was ranked #3 at 197 pounds in Division I – Taylor eventually went on to capture his third All-American honor … posted a four-match winning streak early in the year, including three wins at the John Reese Duals on November 14 … snagged a 13-5 triumph over Messiah’s Tim Stewart at the Waynesburg Quad on November 21 … finished 1-2 at the New Standard Corporation Spartan Invitational on December 5 … posted a 1-1 mark at the North/South Duals on January 9 … finished the regular season on a two-match winning streak … entered the Metropolitan Conference Championships seeded fifth at 197 … wrestled to a 2-2 mark at the conference championship meet.
2008-09: Put together a strong freshman season … posted a 14-6 record in his first collegiate season … had a tremendous opening to his career … started and won his very first college match, November 5 against McDaniel, recording a pin fall victory … on November 8, won the 197-pound division at the Monarch Invitational by going 4-0 at the tournament … reached the semifinals and finished with a 2-2 record at the Spartan Invitational on December 6 … defeated Messiah’s Tim Hopkins 5-2 at the York College Duals on December 13 … won five-straight matches from January 3 through January 24 … five-consecutive wins came via four decision and one major decision … went 2-0 at the Budd Whitehill Duals during that stretch … as a team, the Spartans went 4-1 during that streak … secured an 11-1 major decision over Cortland’s George Dobrovosky on February 7 in his final match of the season.
Personal: Is a public relations major ... is the son of Dalal and Jean Saliba ... names his dad as the person he most admires ... hobbies include traveling, volleyball, and eating ... favorite athlete is Matt Heisey ... chose York because "close to home, good school, and wrestling" ... after graduation he plans on going to Lebanon and getting a job.
