Wrestling Ends Home Campaign with 36-10 Win

YORK, PA-The York College wrestling team ended their home campaign with a 36-10 win over Thaddeus Stevens on Wednesday night in York. The 24th ranked Spartans improve to 13-5 with the win.

The first three weight classes were forfeit wins for the Spartans as they seized a 18-0 lead. After a Battling Bulldogs win at 149, Albert Gleichauf (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) earned a pinfall win at 157. Thaddeus Stevens picked up wins at 165 and 174, but the Spartans swept the final three weight classes to secure the win. Brian Adams (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) won at 184 while Tom Fitzpatrick (LaPlata, Md./LaPlata) notched a pinfall win at 197. Shane Cooley (Wrightsville, Pa./Eastern York) closed out the match with a 10-3 win in the heavyweight bout.

The Spartans return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Hunter College for a dual meet. The action kicks off at 2:00 pm.
