The York College wrestling team received outstanding news yesterday as junior John Niedrich was named a 2007-08 Wrestling Scholar-Athlete as awarded by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. Niedrich is Yorks 27th wrestler to earn such an accolade.
The three York College Spartan wrestlers that advanced to the 2008 NCAA Division III National Championships in Cedar Rapids, IA all saw their tournament runs come to an end on Friday. Luke Panizzi and John Niedrich each earned one win in the tournament while Kyle Flickinger lost both of his matches at the championships Friday.
