YORK, PA – York College senior women's lacrosse attack Erica Mulford (Crownsville, Md./Seton Keough) has been selected to represent the Spartans at the 2014 IWLCA Senior All-Star game in Randor, PA on the campus of Cabrini College. The game will be held on Saturday, June 7.
She is the third Spartan in the last two years to make a Senior All-Star game appearance. Last year Kim Wayson and Katie Vautier were the first two Spartans to earn invitations to the annual game.
Mulford is coming off a fantastic senior year as she led the Spartans to a school-record 15 wins. The senior attack earned second-team IWLCA All-America honors earlier this month as she led the Green and White in scoring with 59 points on 49 goals and 10 assists. She notched four game-winning goals while she was 8-for-20 in free position shots for the year. Mulford added ten ground balls, seven draw controls and six caused turnovers.
Mulford finished her career with 202 points on 155 goals and 47 assists. She played in a school-record 74 games while she also had 10 game winning goals. Mulford ranks second in career points, third in goals and third in assists for the Green and White. She is just the second Spartan to eclipse the 200 career point plateau.
Spartan mentor Jen Muston is excited to have Mulford earn a spot in the game.
"Erica has had a fantastic career and this is a great way to cap it off," said Muston. "She was a dynamic and dangerous player for us during her career and I am excited to see her play one last game representing York."
The All-Star game is a part of the IWLCA All-American weekend. The game will precede the All-American banquet on Saturday evening. Fellow All-American Ashley Smith (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) will join Mulford in being honored as 2014 All-Americans.
