YORK, Pa. – York College sophomore Katie Vautier has been chosen as the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. Vautier helped lead the Spartans to a 3-0 week as the Green and White improve to 10-2 on the season including 4-2 in league action.
For the week, Vautier grabbed eight ground balls and caused seven turnovers.
Last Tuesday, Vautier and the Spartans topped CAC foe Stevenson by a tight 10-9 score. In that contest, the talented sophomore defender posted three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Two days later, the Green and White bested Arcadia 17-7 but only surrendered two goals in the first half. In that contest, Vautier grabbed four draw controls.
York registered their tenth victory of the season last Saturday with a 21-0 CAC triumph over Hood. Vautier picked up five ground balls and caused four Blazer turnovers. Vautier and the Spartans only allowed two shots throughout the entire 60 minutes of play.
For the season, Vautier has notched team-highs in ground balls (31) and caused turnovers (20) while ranking third on the squad with 23 draw controls.
York returns to action on Tuesday, April 5, when they travel to Montclair St. for a 6:00 pm non-conference tilt.
