Spartans Achieve IWLCA Academic Squad Honors
The York College women’s lacrosse team received outstanding news early this week as the 2011 Spartans garnered IWLCA Academic Squad accolades. The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) honored Division I, II, and III institutions that obtained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Record Four Spartans Selected IWLCA All-Metro Region
The York College women’s lacrosse team received exceptional news this week as four Spartans were named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Metro Region squad. Sophomores Leah Schultz and Kim Wayson were chosen to the first team while classmates Tina Nicklas and Katie Vautier were second-team honorees. Garnering four spots on the all-region team marks a new first for the Spartan program as York's previous season-high was two selections.

Dragoni Named CAC Coach of the Year; Five Spartans Chosen All-Conference
The on the heels of their best season in program history, the York College women’s lacrosse team received outstanding news as fourth-year head coach Jen Dragoni was named the 2011 Capital Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and five Spartans were chosen to the All-CAC squad, including three on the first team. Sophomores Leah Schultz, Katie Vautier, and Kim Wayson were first-team choices while classmates Jordan Hall and Tina Nicklas landed on the second team.

Spartans Fall to #5 Sea Gulls in CAC Semifinals
The York College women’s lacrosse team saw their bid for a 2011 conference title come to a close on Tuesday afternoon, falling 17-3 at #5 Salisbury in the semifinal round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament. The loss brings the Spartans’ record-setting mark to 13-4 while the Sea Gulls move on to the CAC championship sporting a 15-2 record.

Hall Selected as CAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week for a Second Time
York College women's lacrosse defender Jordan Hall has been chosen as the latest Capital Athletic Confernence Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. Garnering the award for the second time this season, Hall helped lead the Spartans to a 2-0 week including a CAC Tournament victory over St. Mary's (Md.).

Spartans Use Balanced Effort to Advance to CAC Semifinals
The York College women’s lacrosse team exacted a sweet dose of revenge as they downed St. Mary’s College 10-7 in the opening round of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament on Sunday in St. Mary’s City, MD. The win comes just eight days after the Seahawks upset the Spartans 12-10 on Senior Day in York.

Spartans Establish a New School Wins Mark with 15-5 Victory over FSU
After an extremely sluggish start, the York College women’s lacrosse team stepped up their play and cruised to 15-5 Capital Athletic Conference victory over Frostburg State University.The win breaks the school record for victories in a season as the Spartans are now 12-3 overall and 5-3 in the CAC. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 4-11 overall and 3-5 in the league.

Schultz Nabs Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week Honor
Sophomore Leah Schultz of the York College women's lacrosse team has been chosen as this week's Spartan-Athlete-of-the-Week. Schultz helped the Spartans to a 1-1 record this past week, including a 13-9 come-from-behind win over Montclair State.

Senior Day Comeback Falls Just Short
The York College women’s lacrosse team fell just short of a terrific comeback win on Saturday afternoon, Spartan senior day, falling to 12-10 to St. Mary’s (Md.) at York’s Kinsley Field. The Capital Athletic Conference loss drops the Spartans to 11-3 (4-3 CAC) on the season while the Seahawks improve to 10-5 (4-3 CAC).

Vautier Garners CAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week Award
York College sophomore Katie Vautier has been chosen as the Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. Vautier helped lead the Spartans to a 3-0 week as the Green and White improve to 10-2 on the season including 4-2 in league action. For the week, Vautier grabbed eight ground balls and caused seven turnovers.

Schultz Leads York to Program-Record-Tying 11th Win
Sophomore midfielder Leah Schultz scored four goals and added an assist at the York College women’s lacrosse team topped Montclair State on Tuesday with a come-from-behind 13-9 triumph. With the non-conference victory, the Spartans tie the program record for wins in a season as they now sport a tremendous 11-2 mark, drawing even with the 2008 squad which went 11-6 on the year.

Spartans Dominate Ball and Game; Shutout Hood 21-0
The York College women’s lacrosse team posted an outstanding performance Saturday as they shutout Hood College 21-0 in a Capital Athletic Conference tilt from York’s Kinsley Field. With the win, the Spartans improve to 10-2 overall and 4-2 in CAC play while the Blazers fall to 3-8 overall and 0-5 in the conference.

First Half Outburst Leads York Past Arcadia
The York College women’s lacrosse team bested host Arcadia 17-7 on Thursday as the Spartans picked up their ninth win of the season. With the victory, the Green and White improve to 9-2 on the season and extend their current winning streak to two while the Knights drop to 2-5.

Nicklas' Late Save, Schultz's Four Tallies Lifts York Over Stevenson
Tina Nicklas made 15 saves, including a game-preserving stop with just two seconds left, and Leah Schultz scored a game-high four goals as the York College women’s lacrosse team bested Stevenson 10-9 in Capital Athletic Conference action. With the victory the Spartans improve to 8-2 overall and 3-2 in the CAC while the Mustangs drop to 6-5 and 3-2 in league play.

Wayson Nets Career Goals Record as Spartans Narrowly Fall to #1 Salisbury
Kim Wayson scored five goals and broke the Spartans’ career goals-scored mark as the York College women’s lacrosse team narrowly fell to #1 Salisbury on Saturday in Capital Athletic Conference action. With the loss, the Green and White fall to 7-2 (2-2 CAC) while the Sea Gulls improve to 10-1 (4-0 CAC).

Wayson Named CAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player-Of-The-Week
York College women’s lacrosse sophomore Kim Wayson has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week following her 16-point performance in the Spartans’ pair of victories last week. This is Wayson's second honor for that tremendous showing as she was also chosen as the Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week.

Wayson Selected as Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week
York College women’s lacrosse standout Kim Wayson has been selected as the latest Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week after she notched 16 points on ten goals and six assists to lead the Green and White to a pair of victories last week.

Offensive Barrage Leads York to Non-Conference Victory
The York College women’s lacrosse team continued their blitz on the 2011 campaign Saturday afternoon as they cruised to a 21-6 non-conference triumph over visiting St. Vincent. With the win, the Spartans improve to a strong 7-1 on the season while the Bearcats open up the year at 0-1.

Spartan Offense Lifts York to Sixth Win
Sophomore Kim Wayson led the York College women’s lacrosse team to an impressive 18-6 win over the visiting Saints from Marymount University Tuesday at York’s Kinsley Field. With the Capital Athletic Conference triumph, the Spartans move to a 6-1 (2-1 CAC) while the Saints drop to 3-2 (0-1 CAC) on the season.

Mary Washington Hands York First Loss of 2011
The York College women’s lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the 2011 campaign on Saturday, falling to host Mary Washington 13-8 in a Capital Athletic Conference tilt. With the loss, the Spartans fall to 5-1 (1-1 CAC) while the Eagles improve to 5-3 (2-1 CAC).

Mulford's OT Tally Lifts York's to Fifth Straight Win
Freshman Erica Mulford notched the game-winning tally to lift the York College women’s lacrosse team to a 9-8 overtime victory over visiting Dickinson Tuesday afternoon at York’s Kinsley Field. The Spartans, who are off to their best start in the program’s brief history, improve to 5-0 on the season while the Red Devils drop their second straight heartbreaker and fall to 2-3.

Spartans Cap St. Croix Trip with 15-5 Triumph over RIT
Kim Wayson tallied a game-high five goals and Leah Schultz scored three times as the York College women’s lacrosse team posted a 15-5 victory over Rochester Institute of Technology Wednesday in St. Croix, Virgin Islands. The non-conference triumph boosts York’s early season mark to an unprecedented 4-0 while the Tigers open their season at 0-1.

Spartans Start 3-0 for the First Time in Program History
The York College women’s lacrosse team made history Monday as the Spartans open the season 3-0 for the first time since the inception of the program in 2006. The Green and White topped Oneonta St. 14-8 in St. Croix during York’s spring break trip to the Virgin Islands.

Wayson, Schultz Lead Spartans to Non-Conference Triumph
The York College women’s lacrosse team posted their second straight victory to open the 2011 campaign as they topped host Goucher 16-7 in non-conference action Thursday afternoon. The win pushes the Spartans to a flawless 2-0 to start the year while the Gophers begin the season at 0-1.

York College Women's Lacrosse 2011 Season Preview
The York College women’s lacrosse team enters the 2011 campaign as a program that has officially begun to turn the corner. Following last year’s 10-6 season, just one year after the Spartans went 7-10 with only 14 players on the roster, the Green and White embark on this slate with 29 student-athletes and their best talent pool to date.
