The Spartans eventually took an 11-2 lead after a pair of three pointers from Sam Mocniak, who leads the team in three-pointers attempted and made this season. St. Mary's scored the next five points to get within 11-7, but York finished the opening quarter with the next nine points, using another three from Mocniak, to end the period up 20-7.

Victoria Varner was a welcomed addition off the bench in the second quarter, slashing to the bucket on multiple occasions, and providing an instant offensive impact. After St. Mary's closed within 14 points at 29-15, matching the lowest deficit of the period, Varner managed to earn two points, then Mocniak nailed a step back jumper off the feed from Debria Hendricks. Hendricks made one at the foul line on the next possession to give York a 34-16 lead, forcing the Seahawks to call timeout. Kayla Ferris made the next big play, this time on the defensive end, forcing a St. Mary's turnover. Mocniak drilled another three, her fourth of the game, the next time down the floor, pushing the lead to 21 and McGowan capped the 10-0 run with a pair of free throws, giving the Green and White a 39-18 halftime lead.

• The Spartans kept their foot on the gas in the third, unleashing another 11-0 run, in which Morgan Kuehne banked in a pair of running layups, Katie Wagner scored four, and Mocniak hit her fifth three to give York a 50-18 lead. The Seahawks scored their first points of the quarter with just 3:08 left, knocking down a pair of free throws. McGowan immediately answered with a three pointer, the first of her career, and then Molly Day converted a layup.
