YORK, PA - York College senior forward Kristen Haley (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Visitation) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Haley led the undefeated Spartans to a pair of wins for the week to earn the honor. York knocked off #24 Eastern Mennonite 65-52 on Wednesday and then went on the road and downed Franklin & Marshall 63-50 on Saturday.
In the win over EMU, Haley posted her 25th career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead York. She also blocked three shots with the third rejection making her the Spartans' all-time leader in the category. Haley was 7-for-15 from the floor including a pair of threes in her 23 minutes of work.
On Saturday, Haley poured in a season-high 23 points while she added four rebounds, two blocks, a steal and one assist. She was 10-for-17 from the floor and 2-for-4 from three in the victory.
For the week, Haley averaged 19.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while she also blocked 2.5 shots per game.
Haley is a nursing major and is the daughter of Paul and Sue Haley.
