Ward Named d3hoops.com First-Team All-American
Keli Ward continues to pile up post-season accolades as she was named to the d3hoops.com All-American squad as announced on Saturday. Ward was a first team selection after leading York to a school-record 27 wins. Last week, Ward was named to the WBCA/State Farm All-American team.

Ward Named WBCA/State Farm All-American
Senior point guard Keli Ward became York College's first women's basketball All-American as the WBCA announced their 10-player All-American squad on Friday morning. Ward led the Spartans to a school-record 27 wins in 2008-09 to help earn the prestigious award.

Amazing Season Comes to a Close
The York College women's basktball squad saw their dream season come to a tough end as the University of Scranton Royals used a great defensive effort to down the Spartans 50-46 in the Sweet 16 of the 2009 NCAA Division III Tournament in Rochester, NY.

Witman and Ward Recognized by WBCA
The accolades keep rolling in for the York College womens basketball team. Spartan head coach Betsy Witman and senior point guard Keli Ward were each selected by the Womens Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) as regional honorees for the 2008-2009 season. Witman was chosen as the Region 3 Coach-of-the-Year while Ward is an All-Region 3 team selection.

The York College women's basketball team saw all five starters reach double figures as the Green and White advanced to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 with their 90-73 victory over Baruch College in a second round game on Saturday night in York.

Spartans Post First-Ever NCAA Tournament Victory
The 10th ranked York College women's basketball team made their NCAA Tournament debut a successful one as the Spartans downed Christopher Newport 75-61 in the opening round of the tournament. The Spartans improve to 26-2 with the win and advance to face Baruch on the second round on Saturday.

Sparkman Named CAC Co-Player of the Week
Spartan sophomore April Sparkman capped her outstanding week as she was named the Capital Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Week for the week ending on February 8, 2009. Sparkman averaged 20 points per game during the week including canning the game-winning three in the 59-56 victory over Mary Washington.

York College sophomore guard April Sparkman poured in a career-high 24 points to lead the Spartans to a 75-60 Capital Athletic Conference win over St. Mary's College on Saturday afternoon in St. Mary's City, MD. The win is the 20th straight for York as they are now 13-0 in the CAC.

York College sophomore guard April Sparkman earned a spot on the ESPN The Magazine Academic District II squad as announced by CoSIDA on Thursday morning. Sparkman, who boasts a 3.89 GPA, is the second-leading scorer for the #12 Spartans.

The York College women's basketball team made their fourth top ten appearance in five years as they finished 2007-08 as the eighth ranked squad in the WBCA Academic Top 25 Division III Honor Roll. York finished with a team GPA of 3.467.
