Title: Pitching Coach

Jess Morret (Rhoads) enters her second year on the York College coaching staff. She will focus primarily on coaching the pitchers during the season.

Morret is no stranger to success as she had a fantastic three-year career at Messiah College. Morret was a standout pitcher and hitter who led the Falcons to a 2009 National Championship. Morret also comes to York with extensive coaching experience in her background.

In 2009, Morret led the Falcons to their first softball national championship. She went 28-1 with a 0.49 ERA in the circle as she struck out 364 batters. Morret made 36 appearances with six saves. She was a first-team All-Region selection in addition to being the MAC Pitcher of the Year and a first team all-conference selection. At the plate, she hit .342 with six home runs for the Falcons.

In 2010, Morret had another fantastic year. She went 28-4 with a 0.71 ERA in 35 appearances. She struck out 384 and earned first team NFCA All-American honors. She again was named the MAC Pitcher of the Year and earned first team All-Region honors. At the plate, Morret hit .336 with two bombs.

As a senior, Morret closed out her Falcon career with a 15-1 mark and a 0.15 ERA in 18 appearances. She struck out 147 while she hit .377 with two home runs during her last year at Messiah.

Morret finished her career with a record of 71-6 and an ERA of 0.52. She holds the school record for wins (tied with 71), ERA, saves (7), batting average against (.113), strikeouts (895), shutouts (34), and perfect games (2). She is second in innings pitched (500.1) and third in appearances (89) and games started (75).

After her stellar playing career at Messiah, Morret took the head coaching job at Northern High School in 2012. She also was the assistant coach for Krunch Gold Softball in 2012. She has given individual pitching lessons since 2010.

Morret has her undergraduate degree from Messiah in sport management while she also got her Masters in higher education with a concentration in athletics management from Messiah.

Morret resides in Dillsburg, Pa. with her husband Steve.
