YORK, PA - York College senior catcher Haley Hirn was named the Capital Athletic Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
Hirn had a big week for the Spartans as York picked up three important CAC wins as they split with Christopher Newport and swept Mary Washington.
Hirn hit .652 for the week as she was 15-for-23 with eight runs scored, four doubles, two home runs, five RBI and 25 total bases.
Hirn began the week with three hits in five at-bats in the doubleheader split with Elizabethtown. She scored a run with two doubles and a home run. In the doubleheader against McDaniel, Hirn was a combined 3-for-7 with a run scored, a double and two RBI. In the split with nationally ranked CNU, Hirn was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk in the opening win. She followed that with two hits, a double and an RBI in the nightcap.
Hirn kept rolling in the opener against UMW as she was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a walk. She then went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a home run. The home run was her 100th career hit in a Spartan uniform.
Hirn was also a rock behind the plate as she was perfect in 49 defensive chances for the week. She also allowed just one passed ball for the week.
