    YORK, PA – The York College softball team split a twin bill with Albright College at Spartan Stadium on Monday in non-conference action. The Spartan win marked the 100th victory for fifth-year head coach Jen Petteys. York left 10 runners on base in the first game, falling to the Lions 3-1, before exploding for 10 runs in the evening game, defeating Albright 10-2 in six innings.

Freshman Ginger Lewis shutout the Blazers in the first game, on six hits.

Melissa Jurkiewicz and Katelyn Mehrling earned victories for the Spartans in the circle, making six wins this season for Jurkiewicz already.

Marmo went 4-for-4 with a school-record matching three doubles. Melissa Jurkiewicz won her fifth game in the circle for the Spartans, improving to 5-1 in four scoreless innings of work.

    CLERMONT, FLA – The York College softball team split two games in Clermont, Fla. on Wednesday, defeating Concordia Moorhead 3-1 after losing to the Milwaukee School of Engineering 3-2 in the morning. Ginger Lewis earned her first victory of her career in the circle in a full seven innings of work against Concordia. The Spartans move to 6-3 on their 12-game Florida trip.

    CLERMONT, FLA – The York College softball team scored 20 runs, while giving up just one in a triple header on Tuesday in Clermont, Florida. The Spartans opened the morning with a 9-0 victory over Adrian, before taking care of Finlandia 6-0. They concluded the day defeating Rose-Hulman 5-1 to improve to 5-2 on the year.

    CLERMONT, FLA – The York College softball team fell on Sunday morning to Hanover College 5-2, but rebounded with a 6-2 victory over Waynesburg University in the afternoon behind a strong complete-game performance from Melissa Jurkiewicz. Julie Van O’Linda went 3-for-3 in the afternoon game to power the Spartans.
