YORK, PA - York College sophomore Payton Hill (Stauton, Va./Fort Defiance) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for the week ending on March 23 as announced by the league office on Monday.
Hill made an impactful return to the Spartan lineup after missing the first ten games of the year with a preseason injury. Hill led the Spartans to four wins as she hit .545 with six RBI, three runs scored, two doubles and a home run in 11 at-bats. Hill went 0-for-3 in her return in game one Thursday against Juniata but then went 6-for-8 in the final three games of the week.
In the game one win over Southern Virginia, Hill was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, three RBI with a double and a home run.
She finished the week with a .545 average (6-for-11) with a .538 on base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage.
