2011: Begins her senior year as a key member of the Spartan outfield … is a fast player that has continued to mature at the plate … is a quick player who is also a smart base runner … should have the opportunity to get more at-bats this season as she brings a very intelligent approach to the dish … is one of the Spartans’ captains this year.
2010: Played in 36 games with 35 of those appearances being starts … hit .276 with 12 runs scored, three doubles, and five RBI … she was a perfect 9-for-9 in stolen bases … had a .328 slugging percentage and a .323 on-base percentage … registered a career-high three hits in the March 18 game against Juniata … scored a career-high two runs twice during the year as she did it against Juniata and then again on April 9 against Gallaudet … had a very good game against the Bison on April 9 as she was 2-for-2 with the two runs scored and a career-high two RBI … had at least one hit in 13 games for York … did not have a game with multiple stolen bases as all nine of her thefts came in different games.
2009: Played in 42 games including 41 starts but only had four at-bats as most of her experience came as a flex outfielder for the Spartans … owned a .946 fielding percentage as she had just two errors in her 37 attempts in the outfield.
2008: Played in 23 games as a freshman, earning a start in nine of those contests … had three hits in her 22 at-bats with seven runs scored and an RBI … stole two bases in her two attempts … had her first career hit and first career RBI in the March 1 win over Rutgers-Newark … scored runs in back-to-back games against Mary Washington and Elizabethtown as she was a pinch runner in both contests.
Personal: Is the daughter of Tim and Cathy Markland … is a biology/pre-med major … lists her parents as the people she most admires … named Baltimore Ravens’ all-pro safety Ed Reed as the athlete she most admires … is planning on attending medical school after graduating from York.
