Spartans Help out York Little League
YORK, PA – The York College softball team sports a stellar
36-9 record this season in a record-setting campaign that has been
truly incredible. However, not only do the Spartans perform well on
the diamond, they also do so in the community.
On Saturday, April 10, the members of the Spartan softball squad
helped Little Leaguers in the York area.
Sixty players from the York Little League Softball program attended
a clinic put on by the Green and White as youngsters in the area
received instruction on hitting, fielding, and pitching from the
Spartan squad.
“It was a great pleasure seeing our student-athlete
interacting with the young softball players from the
community,” Spartan head coach Nicki Starry
said. “To be able to give back is a tremendous honor and to
get to do so in a fun atmosphere is even better.”
Senior captain Heather Bormann (Brick, N.J./Brick
Memorial) thoroughly enjoyed her time with the young
ladies.
“It was a great experience,” the all-conference
shortstop said. “Those little girls really look up to us and
watching them improve in just a couple hours, knowing it's from
what we taught them is a great feeling. I was really happy to
be a part of that.”
