Therres Selected as CAC Softball Player of the Week

YORK, PA - York College sophomore pitcher Brittany Therres (Hughesville, Md./Thomas Stone) has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Player-of-the-Week for her outstanding performance during the Spartans opening week in Florida.

Therres led the Spartans to a pair of season-opening wins at the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Fla. She hurled nine shutout innings, including a complete-game 1-0 victory over RIT.  She allowed just four hits (.121 opponent batting average) and no walks while fanning four.

After the CAC announcement, Therres twirled a no-hitter on Monday in York's 8-0 win over Gwynedd-Mercy.

For the season, Therres has pitched her way to a flawless 3-0 mark over her 21 innings. She has allowed only two earned runs while striking-out 15 batters.
