YORK, PA – York senior shortstop Heather Bormann (Brick, N.J./ Brick Memorial) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for the week ending on March 29, 2010. Bormann was a major contributor to the success of the Spartan softball squad last week.
Bormann was on fire at the plate hitting .529 for the week including three doubles and a powering grand slam. She also drive in 10 RBI’s on nine hits and scored six runs. All those numbers added up to an outstanding .882 slugging percentage.
Bormann contributed to the Spartan success in other ways as well. She was able to flash the leather by being perfect in 23 fielding attempts during the six game stand last week at a position known for getting tough defensive attempts.
In part with Bormann’s success, the Spartans were able to capitalize by winning five of their six games last week. They will look to improve upon their stellar play at Hood College at 3 pm on March 31.
