Therres Named CAC Co-Player of the Week Again

York freshman P/DH BRITTANY THERRES (Hughesville, Md./Thomas Stone) and Salisbury senior second baseman Stacey Malarkey were named the CAC Softball Co-Players of Week.

Therres led York to two wins in four games this week.  In a DH sweep vs. DeSales, she went the distance in a 4-1 win, allowing just five hits and no walks while fanning two.  In the nightcap, she pitched the final two-thirds of the game to get the save in a 4-3 win.  In the twinbill, she was 4-for-6 at the plate with a double, run scored and stolen base.  In a DH vs. Messiah, she suffered a 1-0 setback in game one, scattering eight hits and two walks while fanning three in seven innings. the Week.

Malarkey went 5-for-10 and reached base twice when being hit by a pitch to lead the 14th-ranked Sea Gulls to a pair of DH sweeps, extending the conference champions’ win streak to 30 games.  Malarkey had five RBI, six runs scored, two doubles and her conference-leading 11th homer of the season.
