Sam Koehl comes to the Spartan program after transferring from Hagerstown Community College. Koehl fills a big need for York as she will be one of the Spartans’ starting pitchers in addition to hitting in the heart of the Spartan lineup. Koehl was a two-time Maryland JUCO first-teamer. Koehl is a tall athletic player that features several quality pitches. She does a nice job of mixing her pitches and challenging opponents. At the plate, Koehl hits with power and should have an opportunity to be a big run producer for the Green and White in 2009. Koehl is a nursing major and is the daughter of Steve and Kim Koehl.
