Kelly Smith begins her second year in the Green and White looking to duplicate the tremendous success of her freshman year. Smith, who is a preseason honorable mention All-American, hit .385 with 33 runs scored, 25 RBI, eight doubles, three triples and a home run in 38 games for York. Not only does Smith get it done at the plate but she is one of the best defensive third basemen in the Capital Athletic Conference if not the region. She fashioned a .970 fielding percentage as she had just four errors in 133 chances in 2008. Smith was a first-team All-CAC selection as a freshman and the coaching staff is looking for big things from her as a sophomore. Smith is an elementary education major and the daughter of Tim and Barbara Smith.
