York sophomore shortstop HEATHER BORMANN (Brick,
N.J./Brick Memorial) was named the Capital Athletic
Conference Softball Player of the Week award for March 3, 2008
after Bormann began her sophomore year with a bang as she led the
Spartans to a 3-1 week at the Virginia Wesleyan Beach Bash in
Virginia Beach, VA. Bormann began the week with a 3-for-4
performance against Averett. She also scored a pair of runs in the
3-1 victory. Against Meredith, Bormann was 2-for-3 with an RBI and
a run scored. In the Spartans’ loss to Methodist, Bormann was
a lone bright spot for the Spartans as she was 3-for-4 with a run
scored. She closed out the weekend with three hits, three RBI, and
three runs scored.
She ended the week with a .688 batting average while she scored
seven runs and drove in four others. She had one double and two
stolen bases. She also was perfect in the field for the green and
white.
