Kelly Smith starts her Spartan career with high expectations as
she will start at the hot corner for the green and white.
Defensively, she has sure hands and a strong arm. At the plate,
Smith is a power hitter that should also be able to hit for a high
average. She will man a spot in the heart of the Spartan batting
order as she should have the opportunity to drive in a high
number of runs if the top of the order can reach base frequently.
