Afton Brugger begins her junior year in the green and white looking to build on a solid 2007 that saw her hit .301 with 21 runs scored, six doubles, and a home run in 103 at bats. She is a solid defensive first baseman that will be in the mix for the starting role in 2008. Brugger is a quiet leader that lets her play do the talking. She finished last year with a fielding percentage of .983, the second highest total of all the position players.
