Rich Achtzehn has been involved in Spartan athletics for nearly 40 years. He has served as an assistant professor in education, the Spartan wrestling coach, and the Spartan track & field coach in addition to his duties with the cross country squads.

York's former cross country head coach, Achtzehn now serves the program as an assistant and mentor to new head coach Erick Camodeca. Achtzehn's years of experience will prove a valuable asset to the Spartan squad.

Achtzehn’s teams at York College have never been strangers to success as he led the wrestling team to a fourth place finish at the NAIA team championships and four other top 20 finishes. He also led the Spartan track and field team to two CAC titles and twice earned CAC Coach-of-the-Year honors.

Achtzehn resides in Dallastown, PA, with his wife, Terry.
