Bryan Beegle joins the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country team as an assistant coach for the 2013 season. Bryan comes to the Spartans after a wildly successful athletic career at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania where he graduated with a graduate degree in May 2012.
Beegle will be an asset for the team with his experience as a two-time NCAA Division II All-American. Beegle competed in the 1500 (3:49), 3k (8:26), 5k (14:22), and the DMR (9:47) in his time at Shippensburg. He has a national championship under his belt with the 2011 indoor DMR team and he was a Division II Indoor All-American in 2011 in the 5k. Beegle will be able to coach his athletes from his experience as a hard-worker. He finished his career with eight NCAA Division II Provisional qualifying times.
Beegle will also be a great role model for the Spartans with his strong academic background. He earned a 2012 Capital One All Academic Team nod, along with being an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship recipient. Look for Coach Beegle to push the Spartan runners to the next level in the classroom and on the course for the 2013 season.
