Head coach Stephen LoBianco was pleased with the performance of his squad.

"We did a good job of running as a pack throughout the whole race," said the Spartan mentor. "The freshmen were able to draw valuable experience from their first collegiate race. I am very excited to have such a close pack of guys together this early in the season. It's a good way to start the season."

The Spartans return to action next Friday night when they travel to the Galen Piper Cross Country Challenge hosted by Shippensburg University. The meet is slated for an 8:00 pm start under the lights in Shippensburg, Pa.
