Hartung Grabs Second Straight All-American Honor
HANOVER, In. York College's Tim Hartung (Mohnton, Pa. / Governor Mifflin) has done it yet again. The dominating senior became the men's cross country program's first two time All-American.
Hartung, racing against the best runners in Division III, went out with the lead pack determined to nab another top 35 finish. The lead pack went out in just 6:05 through the first 2 kilometers. As Tim pushed along he fell in line with the second lead pack and crossed through the 6 kilometer mark in just 18:48. Hartung then turned on the after-burners to soar through the last 1,000 meters in just 3:13 leaving everything he had on the course. As Tim surged across the finish line with almost nothing left he edged out the 25th place finisher, Andrew Padgett from Washington University, by just .2 seconds. Tim finished his York College cross country career with an 8 kilometer time of 25:12.3, for a 24th place finish, and his second All-American title.
Tim nabbed his second All-American award with his 24th place finish. With the level of competition at the national level, for an athlete to place in the top 25 two years in a row, it truly highlights Tim's hardwork, determination, and confidence.
Tim has had a spectacular career for York that has included 3 CAC men's team championships, to go along with his 3 CAC individual titles. Tim will immediately enter York College lore as one of the most dominating athletes in school history. To find full results of Tim's race click this link.
