YORK, PA – York College is proud to announce that senior men's cross country runner Tim Hartung (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending on September 15.
Hartung won the Rich Achtzehn Classic held at John Rudy Park on Saturday in York. He captured the individual title in his last race at Rudy after earning top five finishes in his three previous Achtzehn Classic races.
Hartung cruised to the individual championship as he won the race in a time of 27:02.17, winning the race by over 12 seconds. He had previously notched two fifth place finishes and one runner-up at the event.
Hartung led the Spartans to a second place team finish at the 11-team invitational. The Spartans' returning All-American now has four career individual titles.
Hartung earned the weekly honor twice last year en route to the CAC Runner of the Year and a second CAC Championship.
Hartung is a senior nursing major and is the son of Daniel and Barb Hartung.
