WESTMINSTER, MD – The York College men’s cross country team competed at the McDaniel Green Terror Challenge Saturday in Westminster, Md. The race consisted of 3k and 5k segments with placements and times registered for each runner.
In the 3k event, the Spartans finished third in the team portion of the race. Individually, senior All-Capital Athletic Conference runner Jesse Jaeger (Kingsville, Md./Perry Hall) crossed the line fourth overall with a time of 10:15.77. Patrick Lestrange (Green Brook, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional) clocked a 15th-place 10:55.47 while teammate Joe Paraszczuk (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream North) came in 16th with a time of 11:03.95.
The Spartans would go on to place fourth in the 5k event. Jaeger once again led the way for the green and white registering a fourth-place finish of his own with a time of 17:25.54. Sophomore Matt Provonche(Churchville, Md./C. Milton Wright) continues his strong 2008 campaign, running a 17:39.82 to cross the line ninth overall.
The trio of Adam Bean (Pottstown, Pa./St. Pius X), Kevin Snyder (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion), and Shane Lohss (Dover, Pa./Northeastern) recorded top-40 finishes with times of 19:42.57, 19:44.34, and 19:53.85, respectively.
York returns home on Saturday, September 20, for the Spartan Invitational. Start time from John Rudy Park is slated for 10:30 am.
