BETHLEHEM, PA-The York College men’s cross country team participated in the Brooks Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University on Friday afternoon in Bethlehem, PA. The Spartans participated in the White 8k race and finished 27th of 39 teams. York accumulated 751 points. The race featured 270 runners.
The Spartans were paced by freshman Matt Provonche (Churchville, Md./C. Milton Wright) as he placed 84th with a time of 27:48. He was followed by senior Luke Fernandez (Kennebunkport, Maine/Kennebunk) as he placed 103rd with a time of 28:04. Spartan junior Jesse Jaeger (Kingsville, Md./Perry Hall), coming off a win at the Spartan Invitational last week, clocked in with a time of 28:45, good for a 153rd place finish. Freshman Andrew Friesma (Adamstown, Pa./Cocalico) placed 199th as he crossed the finish line in a time of 29:36. Freshman Justin Severini (St. James’s, N.Y./Smithtown) was the fifth Spartan finisher as he placed 212th with a time of 30:04.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday, October 6 at the Goucher Invitational.
