TOWSON, MD-The York College men’s cross country team placed fourth of ten teams at Saturday’s Goucher College Cross Country Invitational in Towson, MD. The Spartans finished with 129 points, 13 back of third place Scranton. Rowan won the 87 runner event with a team score of 27 while Juniata College was second with 100 points.
The Spartans were led by senior Luke Fernandez (Kennebunkport, Maine/Kennebunk) as he placed 14th with a time of 29:19.68. Junior Adam Bean (Pottstown, Pa./St. Pius X) recorded a 24th place finish as he clocked in with a time of 30:01.94. Sophomore Kevin Snyder (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) was the third Spartan to cross the finish line as he recorded a time of 30:12.86, good for a 28th place finish. Freshman Paul Wallace (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) placed three spots back of Snyder as he finished 31st with a time of 30:25.74. Freshman Matt Provonche (Churchville, Md./C. Milton Wright) was the final Spartan scorer as he placed 36th with a time of 30:44.11.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday, October 20 when the Spartans host Goucher College in a dual meet at John?Rudy Park.
