Leander Toney
Title: Asst. Track & Field Coach

Leander Toney enters into his first season as an assistant coach with the York College track and field team.

Toney’s experience will greatly benefit the Spartan program. He will be working primarily with the jumpers.

Toney began as a collegiate athlete at Shippensburg University for the 2007-08 season. He was the 2008 USTFCCCCA East Region Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year. Toney holds the current outdoor school record for high jump at Shippensburg with a height of 2.18 meters. In the spring of 2009, Toney transferred to IUP. While at IUP, Toney was an NCAA Outdoor and Indoor Division II Track and Field All-American. He was also the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Outdoor High Jump Champion for three seasons. Toney currently holds the outdoor high jump record at IUP as well, which stands at 2.18 meters. Toney headed out to the University of Central Missouri for graduate school and his final year of eligibility. At Central Missouri, he was the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association outdoor and indoor high jump champion.
