All Around Solid Performances for Men's T&F in Final CAC Tune Up

SELINSGROVE, PA – The York College men's track & field squad made their final tune up before the Capital Athletic Conference Indoor championships as they traveled to the Susquehanna Open on Saturday in Selinsgrove.

The meet highlights for the Spartans included in a win in the 5K from Alex Smith while the 4x400 squad also had a strong showing.

4. Darris Rodrigues – Pole Vault (4.05 meters / 13' 3.5")

4. 4x400 Meter Relay (Harley Heun, Daniel Caldwell, Ethan Budsock, Matt Morgan) – 3:33.13

5. Ben Linne – 3000 Meter Run (8:58.93)

5. Grant Dell – 1 Mile Run (4:28.30)

5. Ethan Budsock – 400 Meter Dash (53.51)

6. Andrew Erickson – 3000 Meter Run (9:03.14)

7. Jake O'Neill – 3000 Meter Run (9:04.82)

7. Brian Koonce – Pole Vault (3.90 meters / 12' 9.5")

8. Harley Heun – 400 Meter Dash (53.71)

9. James Novak – High Jump (1.78 meters / 5' 10")


Meet Notes

The trio of Ben Linne, Jake O'Neill, and Andrew Erickson all set new indoor personal bests in the 3,000 meter run … freshman Daniel Forry set a new personal best in the one mile run as he notched a time of 4:46.25 … in addition to Alex Smith's win in the 5K, fellow Spartans Matthew Zubrzycki and Drew Alansky each notched PRs … Zubrzycki's time was 16:15.54 while Alansky's time was 16:17.01 … the 4x400 meter relay team posted their top time of the season in the event at 3:33.13.

The Spartans take a week off to prepare for the 2018 Capital Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Christopher Newport University. The championships will be held Friday, February 16 and Saturday, February 17 at the Freeman Center in Newport News, Virginia.
