Men's Indoor Track & Field Starts 2017-18 at F&M

LANCASTER, PA – The York College men's indoor track & field team opened their 2017-2018 campaign with a trip to Lancaster to participate in the Diplomat Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday. The meet was a non-team scoring event.

The Spartans had a number of standout performances including a win from Kevin Landis in the pole vault and a second place finish from Matt Morgan in the 1,000 meter run.



Jonathan Mack: 200 Meter Dash, 24.16 (14th)

Harley Heun: 200 Meter Dash, 24.27 (19th); 800 Meter Run, 2:11.29 (15th)

Daniel Caldwell: 800 Meter Run, 2:04.07 (7th)

Ben Hinkel: 800 Meter Run, 2:04.09 (9th)

Ethan Budsock: 800 Meter Run, 2:05.13 (11th)

Alex Delpizzo: 800 Meter Run, 2:11.86 (16th)

Matt Morgan: 1,000 Meter Run, 2:45.00 (2nd)

Darren Webb: 1 Mile Run, 4:46.22 (8th)

James Novak: High Jump, 1.83 meters (15th)

Kevin Landis: Pole Vault, 4.40 meters (1st)

Christian Betancourt: Pole Vault, 3.95 meters (7th)

Darris Rodrigues: Pole Vault, 3.95 meters (8th)

Trevor Joseph: Pole Vault, 3.95 meters (9th)

Kevin Landis' win in the pole vault was his first collegiate championship … Michael Richardson, Josh Starkey, and Sam Wiedorfer all set PR's in the 60-meter dash … freshmen Jonathan Mack and Harley Heun both earned top 20 finishes in the 200-meter run in their collegiate debut … the Spartans had four pole vaulters, Kevin Landis, Christian Betancourt, Darris Rodrigues and Trevor Joseph each met the CAC qualifying mark in the meet … Paul Pope set a new PR in weight throw by over three meters.



The Spartans return to action on Saturday, January 13 when they travel back to Franklin & Marshall to participate in the Coach I Open. The action kicks off at 10:00 am.
