Spartan Men Produce Solid Performances at Kutztown Invitational
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The York College men's track and field team competed at the Kutztown Collegiate Invitational on Friday night at Kutztown University.

Darnell Tillman had a stellar performance in the 400m dash as he placed second with a time of 52.16

Sprinter Ryan Banta qualified for the 55m dash finals where he placed 13th with a time of 6.6. Banta also placed 15th in the 200m dash with a time of 24.12.

Ethan Budsock performed well as he placed sixth in the 500m dash with a time of 1:12.89.

The duo of Ben Hinkel and Ethan Felix finished fifth and sixth in the 800m run with times of 2:06.82 and 2:07.78 respectively.

In the 1000m run, James Gonzales led a trio of Spartans with a fifth place finish with a time of 2:44.29. Dylan Hartlaub placed eighth with a time of 2:47.31 and Darren Webb placed 12th with a time of 2:53.32.

Matthew Morgan led a trio of Spartans in the mile run as he placed fifth with a time of 4:45.95. Ray Smith placed seventh with a time of 4:50.41 and Jordan Blankenship placed 12th with a time of 4:55.59.

Grant Dell and Alex Smith both looked strong in the 3000m run. Dell placed second with a time of 9:06.9 and Smith placed seventh with a time of 9:12.9. Matt Hayes placed 12th with a time of 9:21.7.

The 4x800m relay team captured first place with a time of 8:29.06. The foursome consisted of Dell, Gonzales, Hartlaub and Morgan.

In the field, James Novak placed seventh in the high jump with a height of 5-08.75 and Nick Gajewski placed eighth with a height of 5-07.00.

Alex Palescandolo had another strong performance in the shot put as he placed second with a throw of 46-08.25. Ian O'Brien took eighth in the weight throw with distance of 45-06.25.
