BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The York College men's track and field team competed at the 2015 Greyhound Invitational hosted by Moravian College on Saturday afternoon.
Darnell Tillman (Enola, Pa. / East Pennsboro) took home two top-five finishes on the day, including first place in the 200 meter dash with a personal-best time of 21.73. Tillman also set a new personal record in the 100 meter dash as he placed fifth in the finals with a time of 10.97. Tillman's time in the 200 was just 0.01 seconds off the school record, but gives him a top-10 time nationally and is the second-fastest time in the CAC this year.
Grant Dell (Westminster, Md. / North Carroll) looked strong in the 800 meter run as he placed fifth with a time of 1:57.32. The freshman ranks inside the top-five in the CAC with his performance today. Okera Beidleman (Germantown, Md. / Northwest) also performed well in the 800 meter run as he placed 15ht with a personal-best outdoor time of 2:00.14, which puts him inside the top-10 in the CAC.
Senior Michael Stetson (Old Bridge, N.J. / Old Bridge) had a strong performance in the 1500 meter run as he placed ninth with a time of 4:05.12, good for a top-10 CAC time. Alex Smith (Ephrata, Pa. / Ephrata) also performed well in the 1500 meter, setting a new personal record with a time of 4:09.50.
Senior Rafi Fernandez (Ellicott City, Md. / Howard) was York's top finisher and set a new personal record in the 5000 meter run with a time of 16:23.51.
Darien Gray (Bladensburg, Md. / Gonzaga) placed sixth in the finals of the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.78, but recorded a time of 15.61 in the preliminaries as hurdlers battled windy conditions on the day. Gray took home a fourth place finish in the 400 meter hurdles as she recorded a time of 56.09.
Ian O'Brien (Orefield, Pa. / Parkland) placed 12th and set a new personal record in the hammer throw with a distance of 148' 1", giving him two top-10 throws in the CAC. Alonzo Abraham (Severn, Md. / Meade) recorded a season-best throw of 127' 7" with an 11th place finish in the discuss throw.
