York College rising senior Tim Hartung added another accolade to his fantastic 2012-13 campaign as he earned Capital One Division III Academic All-America honors for Men’s Track and Cross Country as announced by CoSIDA on Tuesday afternoon.
For the Spartans, day one of the 2013 NCAA DIII National Championships was extremely successful. Tim Hartung earned his second All-American honors this year with a seventh place finish in the 10K and Phillip Cavaluchi qualified for the long jump finals and finished ninth overall.
York College junior Tim Hartung achieved something that no other athlete in the 25-plus years of the Capital Athletic Conference has ever done. Hartung was named the 2013 Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Hartung became the first athlete in CAC history to win the Athlete of the Year award in three different championship sports.
The York College men’s track & field team finished the Capital Athletic Conference Championships in fourth place overall on Sunday afternoon at Salisbury University. The Spartans finished with 70 total points behind Salisbury, Mary Washington and Frostburg.

The York College men’s indoor track and field team took several athletes to compete at the Virginia Tech Final Qualifier to finish off the season. Tim Hartung capped off his indoor season by once again breaking the record in the mile.
The York College men’s indoor track and field team finished third out of five teams at the Capital Athletic Conference indoor championships on Sunday at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. The Spartans had three athletes notch individual titles throughout the meet.
The majority of the York College men’s track and field team competed at the Susquehanna Invitational on Saturday afternoon. A few student-athletes also traveled to compete at a competitive Bucknell Invitational.
