Cavaluchi Wins Long Jump as Spartans Compete at Greyhound Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The York College men's track & field squad competed at the Greyhound Invitational on Saturday at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa.

Junior Phillip Cavaluchi continued his outstanding campaign as he captured the win in the long jump. The Spartan standout posted a victorious 6.95-meter (22' 9.75") leap as he bested several Division I student-athletes from Lehigh, Monmouth, and Rider. Cavaluchi would also compete in the 100-meter dash where he took 12th overall with an 11.38.

Wil Feliciano, who has come on strong for the Green and White during his freshman track & field season, secured sixth in his signature 800 meters with a 1:55.63. He also took 15th overall in the long jump with a leap of 6.10 meters (20' 0.25").

In the 1500, sophomore Tim Hartung snagged eighth overall with a 4:04.48 time while Aaron Robertson finished with a 4:10.86 and Steven Childres posted a 4:11.70.

Zach Rogers took 11th overall in the triple jump with a 12.66-meter (41' 6.5") result.

The 400 meters saw rookies Joquan Jamison and John Follety post times of 50.56 and 51.79, respectively.

In the 4x400 relay, the Spartan squad took fourth overall with a 3:27.20.

Marcus Bailey nabbed 15th in the discus with a toss of 40.29 meters (132' 2") while Austin Dubos took 18th (39.28 meters / 128' 10").

The shot put saw Alex Palescandolo post a result of 12.43 meters (40' 9.5") while Kameron Wansel registered a 38.39-meter (125' 11") distance in the hammer.

Next week, the Spartans are slated to have student-athletes compete at the Penn Relays as well as at the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University.
