YORK, Pa. – York College freshman Wil Feliciano has been selected as the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Track Co-Athlete of the Week for January 31 following his outstanding performance at the George Mason Patriot Games this past weekend. The Macungie, Pa. native was a part of two record-breaking performances on Saturday.
Feliciano posted an impressive 2:01.77 in the 800-meter as he broke the previous program record, which was set in February 2009, by over two full seconds. The rookie also owns the 800-meter record at Fleetwood High School and was a state qualifier in the event as a prep athlete.
In the distance medley relay, just one week after breaking the school record, the Green and White bested that mark once again. Feliciano and teammates Steven Childres, Andrew Friesema, and Tim Hartung combined to smash the previous mark of 11:16.75 as they finished at an astounding 10:45.02. The Spartan freshman handled the 400-meter leg of the DMR.
Feliciano and the Green and White return to action on Friday, February 3, when they will travel to Susquehanna University to compete in the Crusader Invitational. Start time for the meet is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
