YORK, PA - York College freshman sprinter Darren McKoy (Baltimore, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) has been named as one of the Capital Athletic Conference's Co-Athletes of the Week for men's track & field. McKoy put together a stellar meet at the Battleground Relays hosted by the University of Mary Washington. Salisbury junior Brandon Fugett joins McKoy in this week's accolade.
The rookie anchored the Spartans’ school record 4x100 team, which crossed the line in a strong 42.91 en route to the victory.
In the individual 100-meter dash, McKoy ran the meet’s top
preliminary time of 11.36 before taking second in the finals with
an 11.30 – the best time among the current collegiate
student-athletes who participated at the meet.
McKoy’s work in the 4x200 and sprint medley relays helped the Spartans land runner-up finishes in each of the two events.
